Lecture: The future of the web. MacManus et al (see reference below) speculated at the end of last year on the web trends they believed would become important in 2007. Read the article: retrospectively, how accurate were their predictions? did they miss anything?
Finally, Jeremy Kemp of San Jose State University argues Second Life to be a Web 2.0 application and its 3D interface, with 2D-web integration, to be the future of the web:
